Christ University is a private 'Deemed to be University' in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Founded in 1969, it is managed by the priests of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the first indigenous Syrian Catholic religious congregation in India. The college was granted 'Deemed to be University' status in 2008. It is one of the leading institutions in India and is usually listed as one of the best in most educational surveys. In 2014 India Today-Nielsen survey, Christ University was ranked in the top 10 in Science, Arts, Commerce and Law. In 2014 India Today ranking, Christ University ranked 1st in BBA, 6th in Arts, 4th in Science and 4th in Commerce and 10th in Law.                          Recognized by UGC 

Christ University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi on 17 June 1972.
 

Accreditation by NAAC 

Christ University was accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council(NAAC), a UGC-funded body, in 1998 and reaccredited in 2005. Christ College has the distinction of being the first college in the state of Karnataka to be accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), for quality education. It is currently rated an A+ institution by the NAAC and was recognised as a College with Potential for Excellence.

275+ Top Companies Recruited Students from Christ University in 2015-16 Placements.This year CUIM had an impressive turnout of 103 organisations on campus, with an average pay package of 6L .The highest package was 10L.For the department of commerce the placement percentage was more than 85% for both UG and PG courses.The Placements for the first B.A., LL.B. batch of Christ College of Law which were held on a rolling basis since January 2011 saw a fine blend of renowned law firms, corporate houses, an LPO and individual practitioners. Further, School of Law, Christ University, is continuously expanding its network with professionals in the field to ensure maximum opportunities for its students.
